About my practice
I have been a Trager Practitioner since 1985. In 1999, I left my full time practice in New York City to move to Central Virginia. I now see clients regularly in Charlottesville, VA and Silver Spring, MD, and also schedule sessions in the various places around the world where I am invited to teach workshops.
I have a B.A. in Theater/Movement, and spent 15 years as a professional modern dancer learning to embody and express fluidity, ease, power, clarity, and a wide-ranging vocabulary of movement. Extensive study with Dr. Milton Trager, and with other pioneers in the field of somatic movement education transformed my way of thinking, feeling and connecting. Significant training in Continuum, Aston Patterning, Body Mind Centering, Gyrotonics, Kundalini and Ashtanga Yoga, Insight meditation, Body Electric erotic energy transformation, Surrogate Partner Therapy, and my own movement meditations have steeped me in the interconnected influences of mind and body. My professional practice arises out of the depth of my personal practice. In 2023, I was awarded the title of “Master Somatic Movement Educator and Therapist” by the International Somatic Movement Education and Therapy Association (ISMETA).
2023 Session Rates
Individual sessions include explanation of principles and processes, movement assessment, hands-on table work for the whole body as well as targeted areas, and bodymind integration, 90 minutes for $150.
A series of six 90 minute sessions within 6 months will help you attain and sustain high states of well being, increase joyfulness, and resolve bodymind challenges as they arise. $900 value for $750.
Payment is to be made at the time of the appointment or at the beginning of a series. At least 24 hours notice is required to change an appointment. Rates are for Charlottesville, VA and Silver Spring, MD. When doing sessions in other locations, fees may be adjusted to local standards, or to cover travel costs.
Sessions are not involved with the diagnosis or treatment of disease, nor do they substitute for medical treatment where such attention is needed. While sessions often provide relief from physical and emotional symptoms, they are not intended to replace the advice or treatment of a licensed physician or mental health practitioner.
For maximum effectiveness, please leave time after each session to enjoy and integrate the new feeling information.
I almost always offer sessions in the days before or after I teach classes. If you see I am teaching a class near you, please contact me or the class organizer to get on my schedule
