I am available for Surrogate Partner Therapy with gay, bi-sexual, or transgendered men. I usually work in intensive, short-term formats in Charlottesville, VA. When needed, I can also travel to other cities for intensives.
Intensives vary in length depending on your needs, and on our schedules. Establishing your therapeutic goals and estimating how much time to plan for are decisions we will make in concert with your therapist. Typically, intensives are structured over several long weekends, or in a single 7-14 day block. In whatever format fits best, we’ll work together 3-4 hours a day, giving you time to integrate what comes up, journal the process, and discuss each session with your therapist.
My home studio is an ideal place for intimacy to grow and healing to occur. It is warm and spacious, well equipped, and in a quiet and private setting. A wide variety of restaurants and accommodations are available within walking distance.
My session fees are typically $150/hour, similar to what therapists in the area charge. Occasionally, I can adjust my fees for motivated clients with limited financial resources. Travel and accommodation costs (for you to come to me or me to you), in addition to my session fees and your therapist’s fees, are your responsibility. As far as I know, no medical insurance covers this work, so you will need to be prepared to cover the costs of the therapy out of pocket. It helps to think of this as an investment in your future happiness.
My work as a Surrogate Partner always involves the ongoing participation and supervision of a licensed mental health professional. When working as a Surrogate, I follow the ethical guidelines established by the International Professional Surrogates Association(IPSA).
